That is right--this is dedicated to the folks who are much smarter and know how to stay warm on a frigid Sunday afternoon--in fact all 16 degrees of it. Oh, and it was snowing too but the trails were dry and crusty--perfect for riding. Headed over to Teller as the local bike paths were starting to thaw and it looked messy. Pic above was taken at the end but it sure felt colder than that! Trails were prime and only a few dog walkers were out and about. Here are a few pics...

On top at the water tank--first time on my single speed since last year--in fact I had to put it back together and find a few goatheads in the front tire before I could even leave the house. The hill here coming back to the tank at the end really made my work--I stayed seated for it though but I was fully blown on my HR. Gears are 32/18.

May have scared some folks away but I sure was warm. Have to thank the Optical Center and Jeff for the great Goggles. Made today a good day with a warm face and nose.

Mid way through--as you can see the trail was really in great shape. Amazing what a self timer can do for you.

I will say though that even though I have given this 2000 era SID all the love in the world and lots of overhauls--it is not leaking fluid from the top and bottom--the ice there is red from the oil inside the fork. Air pressure now likes to float between the pos and neg chambers creating a locked out fork for parts of the ride and then a soft fork for other parts--A seal kit could fix that part but its time to probably retire this 1992 frame and maybe put down for the SPOT steel singlespeed I have had my eye on for some time now or that Pugsley.

This ride is only about 12.2 miles round trip--not technical what so ever but great for winter and night riding. I did miss my riding partner though, Joel. ;) Maybe next time once we know you are fully healed.
