Maddie's 5th Birthday--Frozen themed cakes!

Maddie wanted a Frozen movie themed party this year so we were tasked with making the Elsa Doll cake--then mid week it some how turned into Anna too...super fun project and although it took me an entire day to ice them, everyone really enjoyed how they came out and the kids were really excited at the party--those smiles and big eyes were all worth the effort.

First step was to stack the cake up and get the doll inside--two 9 inch rounds and a cone for the top.  Froze the cakes and then chiseled out a hole in the middle for the doll.  We did one chocolate and one white cake.
Anna base icing done, moving onto Elsa

Adding the template around Anna--had to measure out the flowers that go on the dark blue dress part all around.  You can see the compass and scissors on the chair--made for an easy circle.

 Elsa!

Blow those candles out!

One more time!  Happy Birthday Maddie!

I have a time lapse of making the cakes and will try to get that posted soon once I download the pics and piece them together.  Now, what will we make for next year?  :)
