Family visit to the house and basement floor plan mapping

We headed up to the house this morning, just a short walk from where we are staying, and laid out the basement rooms and the crawl space access.
Property lines being marked out by the surveyors.  We plan to put up a fence, so this will be nice to know where the line is.

They brought the small excavator over to help with the back fill.  Madeline went up to Jeff and said "Mr. Jeff, that is just my size!"

Here we are walking up to the project site.

A little cross country

View from the woods towards the garage.

Madeline climbing some of the trees we took down.

My father came up with us to check out the progress today

Looks so different now--really starting to picture how this will look.

Madeline checking out the just my size excavator.

Created this swail in the back under where the deck will be to allow proper drainage off the rocks to the left.

Madeline making sure all the excavators are doing okay.  Dogs found something good too.

View from above again on the rocks. The rocks are great because they shelter the property from the winds we get off the divide.

Looking back towards the garage from the back deck area again.  Rocks on the right side.

First of several rock retaining walls.  This is where the double basement bedroom window will be.  Deck is on top of the rocks above and is also where the windows for the dining area will be.

Front rock retaining wall.  Front porch is just on top of this.

Looking to right of front porch--bath room basement window will be here along with water well to be dug next week.

Plumbing ready to be inspected Monday and then we start on radiant floor heat and slab pouring.  Then framing!  Moving right along.  Amy and I laid out the basement rooms today too with survey tape and measured it out.  Made a few changes, but this is nice being able to change as we go/modify to suit.  Jeff has really been great about working with us on these things.  Almost 2 months since we closed on the land!
